Clarksville, Ark.-The U of O Eagles (0-1, 0-0) baseball team dropped their season-opener 14-1 against Arkansas Tech University (5-1, 0-0) in a non-conference game in Clarksville on Sunday.

Tech jumped out to 4-0 lead after two innings of play and held Ozarks scoreless until the eighth inning. Ozarks’ only run of the game came when Todd Vandevoir scored after earning a walk in his only at bat of the game and advancing on an error. Tech, however, had increased its lead to 14-0 before the Eagles scored in the bottom of the inning. Cliff Ford had the Eagles only two hits of the game. Ford, a senior leftfielder from Lindale, Texas, went 2-for-4 from the plate. Dustin Cole (0-1) started the game and pitched three innings and recorded two strikeouts. Tech’s Jeff Tencleve (1-0) received the win. The Eagles varsity squad returns to action on February 13 when they travel to Oklahoma City to face Mid-America Bible College.
