Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks and UT-Dallas battled to a 0-0 standstill in American Southwest Conference men's soccer play in Clarksville on Friday.

Two ten-minute overtime periods proved to be unsuccessful for either team as Ozarks (6-1-1, 2-0-1) and UT-Dallas (1-5-1, 0-1-1) found themselves in a defensive battle on a muggy September afternoon. It was the first time the two teams have tied since they have faced each other. ????? The team’s statistics nearly mirrored each other. Ozarks had 17 shots while UT-Dallas had 16. The Comets held a 7-5 advantage in the shots on goal column. Ozarks’ goalkeeper Brian Sarber had seven saves while UT-Dallas’ keeper had five. ????? Ozarks almost broke the tie after Lars Nyberg’s header hit the bar eight minutes into the second half. Nyberg was one of nine players to record at least one shot for the Eagles. ????? Ryan Skelly and Jared Gordon each had three shots to lead the team. ????? The men’s and women’s soccer matches that were scheduled with UT-Tyler on September 24 have been postponed until October 18 due to possible travel difficulties for the visitors as a result of Hurricane Rita. Ozarks will have travel to Sherman, Texas, to face Austin College on October 1 in ASC play.
