Clarksville, Ark.-East Texas Baptist University was hitting on all cylinders as the Tigers handed the Eagles a 83-55 loss Thursday night in American Southwest Conference play.

The division-leading Tigers (13-4, 10-3 ASC) could do little wrong, shooting 58 percent from the field in the game, dominating inside and scoring a number of fastbreak points. East Texas Baptist led 54-34 with 11:11 left in the game thanks to a 9-2 run that started at the 14:30 mark. Ozarks (6-13, 3-11 ASC) never got within single digits in the second half.

With the score tied, 16-16, at the midway point of the first half, the much bigger Tigers jumped out to a 24-17 lead three minutes later. The Eagles cut it to 24-21 on Casey Lewis’ dunk through the lane with 6:03 left. But the Tigers outscored the Eagles 10-3 in the final six minutes to hold a 36-24 intermission lead.

Marcus Bobb led Ozarks with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Andre Williams added 11 points.

Ozarks will travel to Richardson, Texas, to face Texas-Dallas January 31.
