Four years ago, Ryan Smith was a high school senior from Springdale, Ark., trying to decide where to attend college. He accepted an invitation to University of the Ozarks' Discover Ozarks Fall Preview Day, and suddenly his decision became easier.

"Attending Preview Day at Ozarks definitely helped me make my decision," said Smith, who is scheduled to graduate from Ozarks in May 2014 with a degree in biology. "I remember the current students at Ozarks making me feel so at home. As visitors, we hadn’t officially made the decision to attend Ozarks yet, but they included us on campus and made us feel like family anyway."

This year’s Discover Ozarks Fall Preview Day has been scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, and is the perfect opportunity for high school students to learn more about one of their college choices.

The university’s preview days are designed to give prospective students and families a snapshot of life on campus while answering as many questions as possible.

The day’s activities begin at 8 a.m. in the Rogers Conference Center, where visitors will check in and pick up a registration packet. During check-in, visitors can talk with current Ozarks students about the various student organizations on campus.

Following the opening welcome session, students and parents will be split into groups and tour the campus with current student guides.

Afterward, the offices of Admission, Financial Aid, and Student Life will hold a question-and-answer session for parents while student visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions of current Ozarks students during a student panel discussion.

The morning is finished off with a sample class and a presentation about Ozarks’ internship and study abroad opportunities. Students and families are invited to eat lunch in the cafeteria with Ozarks’ students, faculty, staff and coaches.

After lunch, there will be a come-and-go session where visitors can stop in to talk to members of admission, financial aid, residential/student life, athletics, and campus support programs.

A full schedule of the day’s events is available on the Ozarks website at www.ozarks.edu/preview, along with a campus map, driving directions to campus, information about Clarksville area lodging and dining, and an online registration form.

The deadline to register for the event is Nov. 12. To register, go online or register over the phone by calling our Office of Admission toll-free at 1-800-264-8636.
