Dan De Hart Named Kyle Rote Jr. Tournament MVP

Clarksville, Ark.-Senior defender Dan De Hart was voted the Most Valuable Defensive Player at the Kyle Rote, Jr. Invitational held on the campus of Sewanee last weekend.

Ozarks (4-0-0) went 2-0-0 at the four-team tourney held September 5-7 at Puett Field in Sewanee, Tenn. Ozarks defeated regionally-ranked Sewanee 2-1 on Friday and came back on Sunday to down Birmingham Southern 3-1.

De Hart’s presence in the back limited the Eagles’ opponents to just two goals during the tournament. On Friday against Sewanee, De Hart held Sewanee’s leading goal scorer and reigning SCAC Player of the Week to just one shot and no goals. On Sunday, Birmingham Southern’s leading goal scorer never got off a shot. De Hart was one of three defenders on the All-Tournament Team.

Junior Shaun Renfro, freshman Joseph Lokang and senior Brian Sarber also earned spots on the All-Tournament Team. Renfro had a goal and three shots in the tourney while Lokang had an assist. Sarber totaled 13 saves during the tournament.
