Clarksville, Ark.-For the second time this season, University of the Ozarks sophomore forward Blake Mitchem has been named to the Team of the Week.

Mitchem, a 6-foot-6, 190-pound native of Fort Smith, Ark., averaged 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and made nearly 70 percent of his shots, including the game-winner against Louisiana College on February 6, in Ozarks’ 1-1 week. Mitchem pumped in 23 points, missing only three shots, and collected 9 rebounds and four steals, against nationally ranked Mississippi College on February 4. He followed that performance with a 27-point, 14-rebound, six-block effort against Louisiana College last Saturday. Mitchem provided the heroics as he hit a long jumper near the three-point line as time expired to break Ozarks’ six-game losing skid.

Mitchem has been among the most dominant and consistent players in the American Southwest Conference this season. He continues to lead the ASC in scoring (21.4) and rebounding (11.0). He ranks fourth in blocked shots (1.9) and fifth in field goal percentage (57.0%). He has posted 13 double-doubles this season.

Mitchem is a graduate of Northside High School where he was named All-Conference his senior campaign.

The Eagles (8-13, 6-10 ASC) will travel to Tyler, Texas, to face UT-Tyler February 13 and then host LeTourneau University and East Texas Baptist University to end the regular season.
