Belton, Texas-Mary Hardin-Baylor rallied from a ninth inning deficit to escape with a 6-5 win over the Eagles Friday night.

Ozarks (5-6) took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second on Drew Clark’s sacrifice RBI. The Crusaders (7-4) responded with a run of their own in the bottom half of the frame and then held a 3-1 advantage after five. Ozarks, however, answered with a pair of runs in the sixth to even the score, 3-3. Michael Prusator and Chris Young each recorded RBI in the sixth. The Eagles later added a run in the seventh and a run in the eighth to take a 5-3 lead into the ninth. But the Crusaders mounted a comeback in the bottom half of the ninth with three straight singles. An error put another runner on base and then their fourth single pushed across the game-winning run.

Jeffrey Works started and went six innings. He was charged with two earned runs. Mitchell Powers (1-1) suffered the loss in relief.

Young finished 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Prusator was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Ozarks will conclude its series with Mary Hardin-Baylor tomorrow with a double-header starting at 12:00 p.m.
