Clarksville, Ark.--College of the Ozarks used an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to upend the Eagles 7-6 on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action in Point Lookout, Missouri.

The Eagles (15-10, 4-5) held a 5-2 lead going into the bottom of the seventh before the Bobcats (18-12) answered with three runs in the inning to tie to contest at 5-5. The Eagles came back in the eighth to score one run on a Robby Finnell solo home run, but it wasn’t enough as the Bobcats scored two runs in the final two innings to close out the game. The Eagles got a solo home run from Brett Hays, his second of the season, in the first inning, an RBI single from Justin Brown and a RBI single from Finnell to hold a 3-2 advantage after six. Brian Heckmann and Hays each had an RBI in the seventh. Hays finished the game 3-for-3 with 2 RBI to lead Ozarks. Bill Martin (1-1) received the loss after putting in three innings of work. Ozarks will host UT-Dallas this weekend in what is one of the biggest three-game conference series for the baseball program in some time. Friday’s nine-inning contest begins at 2:00 p.m. Saturday’s double-header starts at 12:00 p.m.
