Clarksville, Ark.-Junior goalkeeper Chris Schultz was named American Southwest Conference East Division Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Eagles (8-4-1), (6-2-1) to two road conference wins over the weekend.

Schultz, a 5-10, 150-pound native of Coppell, Texas, recorded his fourth shutout of the season with a 1-0 victory against Mississippi College on October 11. Schultz knocked away a potential match-tying goal with 10 seconds left in regulation to push Ozarks’ winning streak to six games. He collected three saves against the Choctaws and added another four saves in Ozarks’ 6-1 win over Louisiana College on October 9. Shultz’ play in net helped the Eagles remain in third place in the East Division standings and in contention for their fourth consecutive playoff appearance. Schultz currently ranks second in the conference in shutouts (4), fifth in saves (60) and sixth in goals against average (1.44). Schultz was named to the All-ASC team, ASC All-East Division First team and ASC All-Tournament team last season after leading the conference in shutouts (10), finishing third in goals against average (1.09) and fifth in saves (87). He is the school’s career leader in minutes played, goals against average, saves and shutouts. He is a graduate of Coppell High School.
