Clarksville, Ark.--Senior goalkeeper Chris Schultz was named American Southwest Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Eagles (2-3-0, 0-0-0) to a split in non-conference action last week.
Schultz, a 5-10, 150-pound native of Coppell, Texas, recorded his second shutout of the season and his 26th career shutout with a 4-0 victory against Ouachita Baptist on September 11. Four days earlier, the senior allowed one goal in Hendrix College’s 1-0 upset win. Schultz finished with six saves in the two games and stretched his season goals-against average to 1.29 over 420 minutes. Schultz was named to the All-ASC team and ASC All-East Division First team last season after leading the conference in shutouts (8), finishing fourth in goals against average (1.35) and fifth in saves (106). He is a three-time All-Conference performer. He is a graduate of Coppell High School where he earned All-District honors as a senior.
