Fayette, Mo.-Central Methodist University held a 2-0 halftime lead and then scored four second half goals to claim a 6-1 win over the Lady Eagles Sunday afternoon in Fayette, Missouri.
Central Methodist (4-0-0) scored a pair of early first half goals to maintain a 2-0 edge. But CMU exploded for three goals in the first ten minutes of the second half to put the match out of reach. Freshman forward Alex Cannon finally got Ozarks (1-2-0) on the board with a goal in the 63rd minute. Fellow freshman forward Lauren Gilby received the assist.
CMU’s offense produced 34 shots on the day. Ozarks had six shots, with Cannon collecting three of those. Mary Eoff had 12 saves in the losing effort.
Ozarks will host NCAA I UA-Pine Bluff September 7 at 6:00 pm.
