Clarksville, Ark.-Central Baptist College remained undefeated on the season and spoiled the Lady Eagles season opener as it took a 4-0 victory Friday afternoon.
Central Baptist (5-0-0) found the back of the net in the 17th minute and later added a goal off a corner kick in the 28th minute to move ahead 2-0 at halftime. Ozarks (0-1-0) countered with a pair of shots on goal in the first half. Freshman forward Haley Gilliam nearly gave the Lady Eagles an early lead in the 5th minute, but her shot sailed just left on the goal. MaKenna Piha had an opportunity to score in the 23rd minute, but Mustang goalkeeper Becca Clements came up with the save. Central Baptist recorded ten more shots in the second half and scored twice more to put the match out of reach.
Ozarks goalkeeper Mary Eoff had nine saves.
Ozarks will travel to Conway to face Hendrix College September 1. The Lady Eagles will then host William Woods University September 3 at 12:00 p.m.
