Shreveport, La.-Centenary College claimed a 4-2 game one win and a 11-5 game two win to gain a Friday double-header sweep over the Lady Eagles.
In game one, Centenary (3-26) found itself ahead 4-0 after four complete innings. Ozarks (8-24) generated one run in the fifth when Colbey Russo stole home. The Lady Eagles trimmed the deficit to 4-2 in the sixth when Meghan Smith drove in Molly Bowman with a single. But Centenary retired the side in the seventh to end the game.
Amber Rollins (7-13) took the loss.
In game two, Centenary jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the third and then added six more runs in the fourth to build a 11-0 lead. Just when the game appeared to be out of reach, Ozarks responded with a five-run fifth. Ozarks totaled five hits in the frame, and Brittany Wagnon, Kelsey Stephens, Bowman and Smith combined for five RBI. The scoring outburst was a little too late though as Centenary was able to keep the Lady Eagles off the board in the sixth and seventh.
Tabitha Porter (1-10) suffered the loss. Stephens was one of four players with two hits. Stephens led Ozarks with a pair of RBI.
Ozarks will conclude its series against Centenary College tomorrow in a double-header beginning at 12:00 p.m.
