Shreveport, La.-Junior forward Marcus Bobb scored 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds but it wouldn?t be enough as Centenary College took a 80-65 win over Ozarks Saturday.
Ozarks (5-14) held a 34-32 halftime lead and were within three points with five minutes left in the game before Centenary College (9-8) scored 21 points in the final four minutes of the game. Bobb put on a dominating performance in the first half hitting 6-of-7 from the floor and scored 14 points. Ronnie Dodd also had a strong game in the first half hitting 5-of-6 from the field and scored 10 points. Centenary took the lead two minutes into the second half and eventually built an eight-point advantage around the eight minute mark. Ozarks answered with a run of their own and Dodd drilled a three-pointer with 5:05 left to bring Ozarks within 59-56. However, things fell apart for Ozarks as Centenary finished out the half with a 21-9 run.
Bobb went 11-of-14 from the field. Dodd finished with 13 points.
The contest did not count as an American Southwest Conference game.
Ozarks will host East Texas Baptist University February 2.
