Shreveport, La.-Centenary College turned a 5-0 lead into a 12-0 advantage behind a seven-run sixth inning as the Gents took a 13-1 victory over the Eagles Friday night in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Centenary (17-5) scored twice in the first inning and three more times in the second inning to build a quick 5-0 advantage. The Gents did not score the next three and one-third innings, but blew the game wide-open in the bottom of the sixth. Centenary recorded five hits and scored seven times in the sixth, and did not allow Ozarks (7-14) to score until the seventh. The Eagles generated five hits in the contest, while Centenary recorded 13. Ozarks stranded eight runners on base through the first four innings of play.
Jeffrey Works (2-2) took the loss.
Ozarks will conclude its series against Centenary tomorrow in a double-header starting at 1:00 p.m.
