Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior outfielder/right-handed pitcher Bruce Cameron was selected to the 2009 D3baseball.com Preseason All-America Second Team, it was announced by D3baseball.com managing editor Jim Dixon.
Cameron, a 6-foot, 175-pound native of Houston, Texas, was named to the preseason list as a utility player. In 2008, he hit .410 with 14 homers and 49 RBI. He posted a .827 slugging percentage, .500 on-base percentage and had 115 total bases. He was among the top ten in the ASC in all of the aforementioned categories. On the mound, he went 5-1 with a 3.35 ERA in 48.1 innings of work.
He earned Second Team All-America honors from D3baseball.com in 2008, and was voted All-Conference at three different positions. He was also named to the Rawlings/ABCA All-West Region Second Team.
The preseason team, published annually by D3baseball.com, named a total of 34 players to two 13-man teams and an eight-man honorable mention list. Cameron was one of just two ASC players to make the preseason team.
The Eagles open the season February 3 at home against Hendrix College.
