Clarksville, Ark.-U of O freshman pitcher Brandi Blake was named American Southwest Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week following her performance in Ozarks 3-1 victory over Ouachita Baptist University February 11.
Blake, a 5-9 native of Conroe, Texas, pitched a complete game while striking out two batters and giving up only five hits in her first collegiate game as a Lady Eagle. Blake aided her own cause going 2-for-3 at the plate. The Lady Eagles are currently 1-1 and travel to Russellville to play Arkansas Tech University February 20 in a double-header. Blake is a 2002 graduate of Conroe High School where she was a three-time All-District performer.
