Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks freshman Bishop Bass was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Men?s Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced Wednesday by ASC Media Relations Director Greg Weghorst.
Bass, a native of Greenwood, Ark., won at No. 1 singles and doubles to fuel team wins over state rival Hendrix College and John Brown University in the Hendrix College Invitational last weekend. Bass, who dropped just one game in the singles action, teamed with Todd Turner for wins in doubles play (8-3 vs Hendrix and 8-1 vs John Brown).
“Bishop’s play was outstanding this weekend,” said Head Coach Shaun Wiseman. “He took control of the court in doubles and continued to impose his will on the other players in both of his singles matches.”
Bass is a graduate of Greenwood High School where he was a three-time All-State performer.
Ozarks will host ASC opponent Mississippi College February 18.
