Big Second Inning Too Much For Hendrix

Clarksville, Ark.- A six-run second inning helped the University of the Ozarks baseball team to a 12-1 win over Hendrix College on Thursday afternoon in Conway.

The Eagles (4-2, 0-0) finished the second inning with four hits, and took advantage of three Hendrix (3-3-1, 0-0) walks. Ozarks starter Robby Finnell gave up only one run and did not allow a walk in his six innings on the mound. With a 7-1 lead after four, Ozarks added two in the top of the fifth behind the hot-hitting Andrew Teaster. Teaster drove in David Smith and David Isom. Three more runs were added in the seventh when Teaster scored on a passed ball and when Bruce Cameron knocked in two on a single. Teaster finished 3-for-4 with 3 RBI. Cameron went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI. David Isom was 2-for-4. Finnell (1-0) pitched 6.0 innings and had three strikeouts to receive the win. John Scheuring came in relief and pitched 3.0 hitless innings. He struck out three.
