Bass Nets Second ASC Player of the Week Award

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks sophomore Bishop Bass was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Men?s Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced Friday by ASC Media Relations Director Greg Weghorst.

Bass, a native of Greenwood, Ark., was unbeaten in No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles against LeTourneau and Texas-Dallas. Bass, who takes the division’s top weekly award for the second time this season, battled back for a 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 victory against UTD – helping fuel a 6-3 team victory. Bass topped his LeTourneau opponent 6-4, 6-3. Bass teamed with Todd Turner in doubles for a 9-8 win against LeTourneau and a 8-5 win against Texas-Dallas. Bass posted a 14-2 singles and doubles record during the 2013 spring season.

Bass earned the award back in March after another unbeaten week and spearheaded Ozarks to its best season during the NCAA III era.

Last season, Bass was named the ASC East Division Freshman of the Year and earned All-Conference honors in both singles and doubles.

He is a graduate of Greenwood High School.
