Basketball Teams Hold First Practice

Clarksville, Ark.-The men?s and women?s basketball teams held their first practice Monday in preparation for the upcoming 2012-13 season.

Fans got a glance of each team during Tuesday night’s Hoops Madness. A three-point contest, dunk contest and a scrimmage were held at the event.

Women’s Head Coach Carl Ramsey has guided his team to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. Ramsey will need to replace all five starters from last season’s 13-13 team. Head Coach Doug Boxell aims to make his first playoff appearance at Ozarks. Boxell returns the nucleus of his team, including the conference East Division Newcomer of the Year as well as another All-Conference player.

The Eagles and Lady Eagles open the regular season on the road against Rust College November 15 in Holly Springs, Mississippi.

The women’s team will have a scrimmage against Ecclesia College in Springdale October 25. The Eagles will hold a scrimmage against Ecclesia College at home October 29.
