Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles scored a pair of runs in the ninth inning, but it wouldn't be enough as Millsaps College took a 6-5 win on Saturday afternoon in Jackson, Mississippi.

Trailing 6-3 heading into the ninth, Ozarks (2-1) got its first runner on when Cory Briggs drew a walk. Following an Ozarks strikeout, David Smith drew another walk to put a runner in scoring position for John Glenn. Glenn promptly delivered a single and advanced all the way to third on an error in the outfield. With Briggs and Smith across the plate, Logan Kizer drew a walk to put runners on the corners. After another Ozarks strikeout, Millsaps (2-0) made the play of the day when second baseman Billy Murphy took away a hit from Robby Finnell as he gloved a shot to his right and made an off-balance throw to first.

With Millsaps leading 3-1, Ozarks got a run in the top of the fifth when Smith doubled in Briggs. The Majors got one run back in the next inning, but Ozarks scored in the top of the seventh when Smith again doubled in Briggs. Millsaps made it 6-3 in their favor in the bottom of the eighth after collecting just one hit. Ozarks made two costly errors in the inning.

The Eagles out hit the Majors 8-4. John Glenn went 3-for-4 with 1 RBI. Smith finished 2-for-3 with 2 RBI. Briggs scored three runs.

Todd Koch (0-1) took the loss despite allowing only three hits in five innings of work. He fanned six.
