Baseball Team Sweeps Mid-America Bible College

Clarksville, Arkansas-The U of O Eagles (2-1, 0-0) baseball team picked up two wins against Mid-America Bible College (2-2) on February 13 in Oklahoma City.

Ozarks gained a 5-1 victory in the first game and a 11-0 win in the second contest. The Eagles got a big first inning when they scored all five runs as all nine batters went to the plate in the first game of their double-header. Anthony Brandon had two RBI when he recorded a double in his first at-bat of the game. Chris Bright then knocked in three runs after he hit a double on a 2-0 count. Brandon led the squad with two hits. Brandon (1-0) also picked up the win after pitching five innings and recording four strikeouts. Clarksville’s Kyle Hudson pitched two innings and had three strikeouts to pick up his first save of the season. The Eagles exploded for four runs in the second inning on two hits in their 11-0 victory. Brett Hays, Sean Pratt, Todd Vandevoir and Frankie Collazo each crossed the plate in the inning. Holding a 7-0 lead at the end of four innings, the Eagles tacked on four more runs in the fifth to sweep Mid-America. Justin Brown and Clint Phifer each had two hits and two RBI to lead Ozarks. Brown was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. Phifer also hit the team’s first home run of the season. Brian Heckmann (1-0) picked up the win after pitching five scoreless innings and striking out four batters.
