Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks softball team picked up a pair of non-conference wins over Westminster College on Wednesday in Fulton, Missouri.
Kara Bartholomew stole home in the top of the eighth to push Ozarks (9-7, 3-1) past Westminster 4-3 in game one. Bartholomew finished 1-for-4 with three steals. Jeanne Randall went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Andrea Mitchell (4-5) received the win. She had four strikeouts. Ozarks had a six-run fifth inning in game two as they took a 7-3 victory to end the day with a sweep of Westminster. Kayla Mahannah highlighted the fifth with a double that knocked in two runs. Trailing 3-1 after four, Ozarks battled back behind three straight singles in the fifth. Randall finished 2-for-3 and Bartholomew went 3-for-5. Mahannah went 1-for-4. Stephany Henson (5-2) received the win. She had fur strikeouts and gave up only four hits. The Lady Eagles will travel to Tyler, Texas, to face UT-Tyler in conference play on March 23 and March 24.
