Clarksville, Ark. --- Award-winning novelist and writing instructor Anna Myers will present a workshop titled, "How to Write and Sell Your First Novel," at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8., in the Walton Fine Arts Center on the University of the Ozarks campus.

The event, which is part of the University’s 2011-2012 Walton Arts & Ideas Series, is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Rowntree Recital Hall, located in the Walton Center.

Myers is an award-winning author of 19 published books for young-adult readers. During this fun and informative workshop, she will lead aspiring writers through the process of taking a first novel from the idea stage through publication, covering topics such as finding your story, overcoming writer’s block, making time for writing, submitting your manuscript to publishers, dealing with agents and contracts, etc.

In addition to having over 40 years of experience as a teacher and author, Myers has a funny, frank, no-nonsense demeanor that takes the mystery out of being a writer and makes her immensely popular with audiences.
