Ashley Teague Receives Second Capital One Award

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior Ashley Teague was named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District Women?s Cross Country First Team, it was announced by the College of Sports Information Directors of America.

It is the second straight year Teague has been voted to the All-District Team. Teague, a native of Lavaca, set a new school 5K record when she ran a 20:10.80 at the Arkansas D-III Championships in October. Teague won the individual title that day and finished third at the Ozarks Invitational. She also owns the program’s top 6K time, running a 25:47 at the NCAA III Regional in 2010. She paced Ozarks to its best finish at the American Southwest Conference Championships since 2006. She was named ASC Runner of the Week twice during the year.

A political science major, Teague is a member of the ASC All-Academic Team and graduated with summa cum laude honors.

The Capital One Academic All-District Women’s Cross Country Team recognizes outstanding NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA student-athletes. To be eligible for Academic All-America honors, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for their career. Freshmen are not eligible.
