Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior Ashley Teague was named the American Southwest Conference Female Runner of the Week, the ASC office announced Monday.
Teague, from Lavaca, Ark., finished third at the 5K Ozarks Invitational with a time of 20:32 Saturday. It was a personal best for Teague, who ran the second fastest 5K time in school history, and the fourth fastest time in the ASC this season. Teague helped Ozarks to a second-place finish at the race. Siama Chauhan set the 5K school record with a time of 20:25 in 1996.
Teague was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Team last season and is a member of the basketball team.
Ozarks will travel to Clinton, Miss., to run in the Mississippi College Invitational October 7.
