Clarksville, Ark.-Four University of the Ozarks basketball players have been named to the 2002 American Southwest Conference All-Academic team, announced by the league office recently.
The Lady Eagles placed three members on the academic squad: sophomore psychology major Jennifer Goodwin from Ozark, Ark.; senior mathematics major Christie Shuffield from Dover, Ark.; and junior biology/pre-medicine major Mandy Thomas from Lamar, Ark. Men’s basketball player John White, a sophomore physical education major from Mount. Ida, Ark., was also named to the team. To be eligible for all-academic honors, student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and participate in at least 50 percent of their team’s games.
