Clarksville, Ark. -- University of the Ozarks sophomore Rebecca Arnold, a radio/television/video and theatre major from LaCygne, Kan., was one of 28 students from throughout Arkansas who took part in a recent cinematography and lighting workshop in Little Rock.

The intensive two-day workshop was sponsored by Jones Productions in Little Rock and the Arkansas Society for Cinema and Television Production. It featured hands-on sessions with four cinematographers.

"It was a great workshop because we were able to work with new camera equipment and work with and hear from some of the top professionals in the film community in Arkansas," said Arnold. "I also made some great contacts that should help me."

Arnold, the daughter of Dennis and Genell Arnold, said she has always had a love for television and the movies. She has shot and produced several short films for TV-6.

"My goal is to go to film school after I graduate," she said. "At the workshop they told us to shoot as much as possible and that has inspired me to get out and shoot."
