Arkansas Symphony’s “Big Band” scheduled for March 5

Clarksville, Ark. --- The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra's "Big Band" will perform at University of the Ozarks at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 5, in the Walton Fine Arts Center.

The concert is part of the university’s 2010-2011 Walton Arts & Ideas Series. Tickets for the concert are $10 each and can be purchased by calling 479-979-1346.

The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s “Big Band” features dance band music of the 1940s and 1950s brought to life by a talented group of musicians from around the state. The 14-piece band brings together a variety of ASO artists from other groups to form a unique ensemble dedicated to sharing the popular “Big Band” sound with enthusiastic audiences.

Now in its 45th season, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra delights audiences world wide with concerts and touring events. The symphony is comprised of the state’s most sought after professional musicians and is heard by more than 250,000 Arkansans each year.
