Clarksville, Ark.-Sophomore designated hitter Anthony Brandon was named American Southwest Conference East Division Hitter of the Week following his performance in five recent games.
Brandon, a 6-0, 210-pound native of Rogers, collected two or more hits in three of five games last week, going a collective 9-for-17 (.529) with five RBI and a pair of doubles. Brandon helped the Eagles to a split against Central Baptist on February 24 going 5-for-8 and driving-in two runs. In the weekend three-game Schreiner series, he drew three walks in the opener then scattered three singles in four plate trips in the closer to finish 4-for-9 as the Eagles’ clean-up man. Brandon leads the team in hits (15), RBI (9), total bases (19) and doubles (4) and ranks third on the team in batting (.429). Brandon is a graduate of Rogers High School.
