Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks sophomore pitcher Amber Rollins was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Softball Pitcher of the Week, it was announced Monday by ASC Media Relations Director Greg Weghorst.

Rollins, a native of Searcy, Ark., went 3-0 over four appearances, posting a 1.11 ERA over 25 1/3 innings of work. Rollins, who takes the division’s top weekly pitching award for the second time this season, scattered 21 hits and struck out 21 batters. She had a complete-game performance with six strikeouts in the program’s first win over Louisiana College Friday. Rollins began the week by throwing a three-hit complete shutout against Hendrix College March 12. She fanned six in that game. She followed that performance with the program’s first victory over conference opponent Louisiana College.
She currently leads the conference in strikeouts with 82 and is tied for the conference-lead in complete games (7). She ranks second in the ASC in wins (7) and innings pitched (73.0).

Rollins won the award March 5 after tossing a no-hitter against Howard Payne University.

She is a graduate of Searcy High School where she earned All-State three times.

Ozarks (9-11) will travel to Clinton, Mississippi, to face Mississippi College in a four-game series March 22-23.
