Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks sophomore pitcher Amber Rollins was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Softball Pitcher of the Week, it was announced Tuesday by ASC Media Relations Director Greg Weghorst.
Rollins, a native of Searcy, Ark., went 2-0 with a save at the ASC First Pitch Tournament in Farmers Branch, Texas, including tossing a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts against Howard Payne March 1. Rollins walked just one batter in the gem. On the week, she allowed just five hits and one run in 14 innings of work, striking out 24. Opponents hit just .089 off of her.
She currently leads the conference in strikeouts with 42. She owns a 3-1 record and a 3.19 ERA in 31.0 innings of work. Last season, Rollins earned ASC East Division Freshman of the Year and All-Conference Second Team.
She is a graduate of Searcy High School where she earned All-State three times.
Ozarks (5-3) will host Hendrix College March 12 in a double-header.
