Alumnus Truman Hensley ’22 has been hired to join University of the Ozarks as an academic support coordinator in the Jones Learning Center. His first day will be August 10, 2026.
Hensley graduated with honors from Ozarks in the Fall of 2022 with majors in physical education and health science. A former standout soccer player for the Eagles, he has served as a self-contained special education teacher and soccer and tennis coach for the Clarksville School District since 2023.
“I am beyond excited to come home to University of the Ozarks,” Hensley said. “The staff and students impacted my life in ways words can’t fully describe, and I hope to have that same kind of impact with the students and colleagues I now have the pleasure of teaching and working with.”
Hensley grew up in a military family and lived in several different states as a child, including Arizona, Florida, Mississippi, Missouri, Wisconsin, Texas, and Oklahoma. He graduated high school in The Woodlands, Texas, just north of Houston.
After graduating from Ozarks, Hensley went on to earn a master’s degree in special education from Arkansas Tech University. He is married to an Ozarks alumnus, Dr. Cody Sparks ’22, and they have two young children, Oliver and Lincoln.
Outside of work, Hensley enjoys coaching, gardening, working with computers, spending time with his children, and doing handyman and DIY projects. He currently serves as the coaching coordinator for Tri-County Soccer Association and also coaches through Lud’s Soccer Academy in Clarksville.
