Applying for financial support at Ozarks is simple and straight forward.
Ozarks has amazing alumni and donors who realize the impact of “giving back.” Thanks in part to their generous support, we’re able to provide more than $8 million annually to help more than 90 percent of our students fund their education! Students do not need to apply for institutional scholarships outside of the Frontier and the Performing Arts Scholarships.

Remember…
Fill out the admissions application.
Apply for admission. Your admission application serves two purposes. The information is used to determine whether or not the University of the Ozarks is a good fit for you. If we determine you are a good fit, you will be accepted and your application will be forwarded for scholarships review.
Complete the FInancial Need Application.
For domestic students:
COMPLETE THE FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA).
The FAFSA can be completed as early as October. It no longer requires you to have your completed tax information, you can use last year’s. In the education world this is being referred to as “prior prior”…your package for next year will be based on last year’s tax information. Please know, we appreciate that last year may not be fully accurate, but it is a place to start and if the numbers don’t reflect your present reality, we will help you edit them. Ozarks’ code is 001094.
For international students:
COMPLETE THE INSTITUTIONAL FINANCIAL NEED APPLICATION (IFNA).
Once admitted, you’ll need to complete this required form. It not only help us determine your need-based grants, but also is part of the I-20 process.
Have a special circumstance? The Office of Administrative Services can use professional judgement to help eligible students receive financial aid. Find out more.
Apply for outside scholarships.
Nearly one-third of all Ozarks students bring outside scholarships with them.
The average amount of these outside scholarships is $1,000. Some students bring as much as $10,000 with them. Local service organizations often have awards, many churches have local scholarships and most denominations have national awards.
Read the criteria carefully and if you think you meet the requirements apply…millions of dollars a year goes un-awarded because no-one applies.
Finish Strong.
Whether you are in high school or attending an area community college or transferring from a large public university – finish strong. You never know when how you finish now will impact what you are eligible for in the future.
