Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles opened the second half with a 24-6 run, but UT-Dallas held off the rally and won 88-74 in American Southwest Conference play on Saturday.

Trailing 43-23 at the half, the Eagles (8-12, 5-11) rode the three-point shooting of Tony Brock and Andre Williams in the first eight minutes of the second half to get within 51-47. Brock hit back-to-back three-pointers to cut it to 45-29. Then Williams followed with three treys in a three minute span, the final getting Ozarks to within four points. In all, the Eagles hit 5-of-8 from beyond the arc in the first eight minutes of the second half. However UT-Dallas (15-6, 11-5) methodically pushed their lead to 70-53 with 7:51 remaining in the game. The Eagles would again make a push and get the score under single digits, but it was a little too late.

Second half shooting was much better for the Eagles. Ozarks made only 8-of-25 (32%) of their field goal attempts in the first twenty minutes, but hit 20-of-35 (57%) in the second half.

Habeeb Kareem finished with 22 points. Brock and Williams each had 14 points.

Ozarks will host Mississippi College on February 14.
