Clarksville, Ark.- The UT-Dallas women scored back-to-back goals within a two-minute span in the second half to put away Ozarks and take a 3-0 win Saturday in American Southwest Conference action.
The Lady Eagles played well against one of the top ASC teams and held the Comets to one first half goal. UT-Dallas scored in the 6th minute, but Ozarks nearly tied the match when Erin Summerton just headed a ball over the bar in the 8th minute. After a tough seventy minutes of defensive play by Ozarks, UT-Dallas scored a goal in the 74th minute and another in the 76th minute to put the match out of reach.
Mary Eoff had eight saves for Ozarks, including a spectacular leaping save in the 55th minute.
Ozarks falls to 1-15-0 overall and 1-9-0 in the ASC. UT-Dallas moves to 9-4-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the ASC.
Ozarks will close out the season with ASC matches October 25 and October 27 at home. The October 25 match against Mississippi College can be heard at www.kxio.nu and KXIO 106.9 FM. Saturday’s matchup with Louisiana College will be the team’s “Senior Day”.
