Hardin-Simmons Downs Lady Eagles

Clarksville, Ark.-Hardin-Simmons University took a 91-63 victory over the Lady Eagles in American Southwest Conference play on Thursday night in Abilene, Texas.

The Cowgirls (8-2, 5-1) raced out to a 44-23 halftime lead to take control of the game. Ozarks (1-9, 1-4) cut the deficit to 20-13 with 9:02 left in the first half when Savannah Carter scored, but the Cowgirls then out scored the Lady Eagles 24-10 the rest of the way. Hardin-Simmons held a double-digit lead for the entire second half. Hardin-Simmons held a 61-30 rebound advantage, making it difficult for Ozarks to get back into the contest.

Erica Eneks went for 14 points, and hit 2-of-5 from the three-point line. Eneks also had 5 steals. Olivia Fisher added 13 points and Emma Cantele had 11. Fisher finished with a team-high 7 rebounds.

Ozarks will play at McMurry University on January 5 at 1:00 p.m.
