Eloy Salgado Nets ASC Player of the Week

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks sophomore forward Eloy Salgado was named the American Southwest Conference men?s soccer co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

The 5-foot-7, 135-pound Mansfield, Texas, native totaled three goals and two assists over two conference matches, including a victory against McMurry University September 22. Salgado scored twice and had one assist in a 5-1 win over McMurry before finding the net once – the game’s opening goal – and dishing out another assist in a 4-3 double overtime loss to Hardin-Simmons University September 24. Salgado leads the conference with 20 points (eight goals and four assists).

For the week, Salgado had five shots, five of which were on frame. He leads the team in goals (8), assists (4), points (20) and shots (31).

Salgado was named to the All-District Team during his prep career at Mansfield High School.

Ozarks (3-5-0, 2-2-0 ASC) will travel to Mary Hardin-Baylor and Howard Payne this week.
