Comets Jump Out To Early Lead In Win

Clarksville, Ark.-Texas-Dallas jumped out to a 42-23 halftime lead en route to a 73-62 win over the Eagles in American Southwest Conference play Friday.

The Comets (7-1, 4-1 ASC) hit five three-pointers, outrebounded Ozarks (2-8, 0-7 ASC) 25-9 and shot 54 percent from the field in the first half. Texas-Dallas led 19-13 at the 9:11 mark of the first half but then went on an 18-6 run to build a double-digit advantage.

Texas-Dallas maintained a double-digit lead throughout most of the second half. Ozarks did cut it to seven points, but that was with one minute left. Facing an 18-point deficit, Ozarks reeled off an 11-0 run to get with 67-60.

Marcus Bobb led Ozarks with 19 points. He hit all five of his shots from the floor in the second half. Ronnie Dodd added 18 points.

Ozarks will not play until January 5 when it hosts Mary Hardin-Baylor.
