Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior right-hander Bruce Cameron was named the American Southwest Conference East Division co-Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by ASC Media Relations Director Greg Weghorst Monday.
Cameron tossed a three-hit seven-inning complete game to lead Ozarks past the No. 4-ranked Texas-Tyler Patriots 3-1 Sunday. The 6-foot, 180-pound native of Houston, Texas, fanned four and did not allow a hit after the second inning. Cameron, who evened his record to 2-2 this season, worked out of a jam in his final inning by striking out two straight batters with runners in scoring position.
Cameron has struck out 25 in 37.1 innings of work. He owns a 5.30 ERA and has thrown two complete games. At the plate, Cameron is hitting .307 with four home runs and ten stolen bases.
Cameron was a preseason Second Team D3baseball.com All-America pick and shared ASC preseason East Division Player of the Year honors with Cory Briggs.
