Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles used a 14-2 run at the mid-way point of the second half to put away Centenary College 79-66 Saturday.
Ozarks (11-10, 7-9 ASC) held a 36-29 halftime lead and led by as many as 13 points with 4:24 remaining, but Centenary College (7-14, 0-0 ASC) hung around for most of the half. Sabrina Goddard would score 14 second half points and Lacey Phillips would miss just one free throw and make both of her field goal attempts to score 11 points. Ozarks held a 43-33 advantage early in the second half, but Centenary made a push to get within 44-41 with 13:31 left. After Centenary closed it to 49-47 three minutes later, Ozarks went on a 10-2 run. Goddard and Ashley Teague later made back-to-back jumpers to extend Ozarks’ lead to 63-49.
Goddard paced Ozarks with a double-double scoring 18 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Phillips had 17 points, while Alison Villines and April Young finished with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Ozarks will host Louisiana College February 9 and Mississippi College February 11. The game against Mississippi College has been designated as Senior Day, Sports Hall of Fame Day and Homecoming.
