What you enjoy about being a JLC coordinator?
I really enjoy seeing the different learning styles each of my students use! For students with learning disabilities there is no cookie cutter method that works for every single one of them. For each student I customize our sessions and tailor my approach for that student individually. Getting to see students flourish when they can have a customized learning experience is amazing and it is my favorite part of being a JLC coordinator!
Special part about being at Ozarks?
The size of the campus makes it so easy for staff, faculty, and students to be connected! The faculty who work with my JLC students know them by name, truly care about their academic progress, and care about their personal growth and wellbeing. Ozarks campus community really feels like a family!
What you would say to parents or students who are thinking about the JLC? I genuinely believe that the resources available through the JLC help students tremendously as they navigate their higher education journey. The JLC staff supports and advocates for these students and are deeply invested in helping them succeed. I can say without a doubt that the JLC is a resource worth looking in to for students with learning disabilities and their families!
