Clarksville, Ark.-Henderson State University forced 38 turnovers, including 22 in the first half, as the Lady Reddies spoiled the season-opener for the Lady Eagles, 89-48, Tuesday night in Arkadelphia.

The non-conference affair saw the two teams stay even for the first nine minutes of the game, with Ozarks Alison Villines hitting a free throw to tie the contest at 11-11 at the 11:44 mark. However, Henderson State (1-0, 0-0) forced Ozarks (0-1, 0-0) into 17 miscues after Villines’ free throw to end the half with a 58-24 lead.

The Lady Eagles couldn’t recover from the first half deficit and were unable to cut into the Lady Reddie lead in the second half. Ozarks went 6-of-23 from the floor in the second half.

Three freshmen started for Ozarks, with Lacey Phillips leading the way with 10 points. The Clarksville native hit 2-of-6 from the three-point line. Senior forward Olivia Fisher had a team-best six rebounds.

Ozarks will travel to Irving, Texas, to play in the University of the Dallas Classic November 21-22. Ozarks will face University of Dallas November 21 at 8:00 p.m. and Austin College November 22 at 2:00 p.m.
