Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior midfielder Jessalyn Halsted has been named to the D3Kicks.com Team of the Week, it was announced by D3Kicks.com Matt Wollin.
Halsted, a 5-foot-9 native of Harrison, Ark., had a game-winning goal and an assist in Ozarks 2-0 week, helping the Lady Eagles to their best season in the program’s history. She had a combined 9 shots and 2 shots on goal in the two wins. Her penalty kick against LeTourneau on October 26 proved to be the game-winner.
She is the career leader in assists (17) at Ozarks, and is tied for second in all-time points (55). She is third in career goals (19).
She led the team in shots (46), and was second in goals (5) and points (13) this season. Halsted is a two-time All-ASC and ASC All-Academic player.
She is a graduate of Harrison High School where she earned NSCAA/adidas Arkansas Player of the Year in 2003.
Ozarks narrowly missed the playoffs, finishing in seventh place, one spot from earning the program’s first ever post-season appearance. At 7-6-4, the Lady Eagles had the program’s highest winning percentage (.529) and tied the program record in wins.
