University of the Ozarks Professor of Art Tammy Harrington will present her exhibit titled, “The Air Between Us,” from Jan. 16 through Feb. 23 at the Norman Hall Art Gallery at Arkansas Tech University.

The exhibition of paper cut artwork will be open weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, through Friday, Feb. 23, at 203 West Q Street on the ATU campus in Russellville.

A reception and gallery talk is planned for 2:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31. Admission to the exhibit and the reception is free and open to the public.

Harrington, who has taught at U of O since 2002,  earned the University’s Bagwell Outstanding Faculty Award in 2013 and 2018 and the 2017 Beaux Arts Award from the River Valley Arts Center. In 2023, Harrington captured first place in the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum Invitational exhibition with her paper cut entitled “Whisper.”

She has served as president of the Arkansas Society of Printmakers.

“Throughout my life, art has been a major part of how I communicated with the world,” Harrington said. “The search for meaning is what I strive to develop and continue in my artistic practice. My artwork combines printmaking and paper cut to imbue the cross-cultural influences of Chinese and American culture into figurative compositions to create an ephemeral space.”

Harrington holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of South Dakota and a master of fine arts degree in printmaking from Wichita State University.
