Clarksville, Ark.-For the second time this season, University of the Ozarks senior forward Habeeb Kareem was named the American Southwest Conference men's basketball East Division Player of the Week, announced ASC Director of Media Relations Greg Weghorst on Monday.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Houston, Texas, native averaged 20.0 points and 6.0 rebounds to help the Eagles (7-7, 4-6) get back into the thick of the playoff race. Kareem shot a combined 56 percent from the field in a pair of ASC East Division wins last week. He hit a go-ahead three-pointer with the game tied 78-78 late against LeTourneau on Thursday and scored 16 points in the second half to help defeat East Texas Baptist on Saturday.

He is third in the ASC in scoring (17.1) and rebounding (7.4). A three-time All-ASC player, he currently ranks fourth at Ozarks in career points (1,398) and fifth in career rebounds (592).

He is a graduate of Bush High School where he averaged 12.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game his senior season.

Ozarks will travel to Clinton, Miss., to face Mississippi College on January 24 and Pineville, La., to face Louisiana College on January 26.
