Clarksville, Ark.- University of the Ozarks junior outfielder Bruce Cameron was named the American Southwest Conference co-East Division Hitter of the Week, it was announced by ASC Media Relations Director Greg Weghorst on Monday.
It is the second time this season Cameron has earned the Hitter of the Week award.
Cameron, a 6-foot, 175-pound native of Houston, Texas, had the ASC’s first three-home run game this season in a 3-for-4 effort against Lyon College on March 11. He finished with 4 RBI in that game, and then added a solo homer against Texas-Dallas on March 15. He batted .636 on the week with five RBI. He also pitched seven innings to pick up the win in the finale with UTD that decided the series.
He is batting .406 with six home runs and 26 RBI. On the mound, he is 3-0 and owns a 2.75 ERA.
#24 Ozarks will travel to Tyler, Texas, to face #5 Texas-Tyler in a three-game set beginning March 20.
