Jose Rene “J.R.” Martinez is an American actor, author, motivational speaker, and retired U.S. Army soldier. In March of 2003, Martinez was deployed to Iraq. In April he sustained severe burns to over 34 percent of his body when his Humvee hit a roadside bomb. Since his recovery, Martinez has since become a highly sought-after motivational speaker. In this open forum for all Ozarks community members, including faculty, students, and staff, Matthew Eubanks/Counseling Services will briefly present nationwide trends related to college mental health, explain current mental health services offered at Ozarks, and facilitate guided discussion and dialogue regarding the community's perceived needs from Counseling Services, ideas for programming, and concerns about mental health on campus.
A new twist on a cherished Ozarks tradition, this year’s luncheon is open to all alumni regardless of their class year. Designated tables will be reserved for each class decade and special recognition will be given to those classes celebrating their 50th, 60th and 70th reunion. This event will be held in the Bean & Bruning Rooms within Rogers Conference Center. Cost to attend the event is $20 per person.
Each year the University of the Ozarks Alumni Association selects distinguished alumni who have excelled in their fields and/or in their support of Ozarks. We will also be inducting alumni/friends into the Sports Hall of Fame, and giving donor recognition awards selected by the Office of Advancement & Alumni Engagement. This event will be held in the Rogers Conference Center. Cost to attend the event is $25 per person. Cash bar will be available. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
