Clarksville, Ark. --- The University of the Ozarks Chorus and music ensembles will perform in eight churches in three states from March 17-24 as part of their Spring Tour 2006.
U of O Assistant Professor of Music Dr. G. Mikael Lindstrom will direct the University Chorus, University Handbell Ringers, a Select Mixed Ensemble and a Women’s Ensemble during their tour of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Jeanine Myers, an adjunct professor of math at Ozarks, is serving as pianist and rehearsal accompanist during the tour. Among the selections the groups are expected to perform are “Come, Christians, Join to Sing,” by Stan Pethel; “Blessed is He,” by Dave and Jean Perry; “The Star Spangled Banner,” by Frank Sarent; “Morning has Broken,” by Douglas E. Wagner; “Lift Thine Eyes to the Mountains,” by F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy; and “Simple Gift,” by A. Copland. The tour performances include: ? First Presbyterian Church in Kilgore, Texas, at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 23. ? Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines in Hot Springs Village, Ark., at 3 p.m., Friday, March 24.
